The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) promised to shoot fellow soldiers who surrender. This was told by the Ukrainian prisoner of war Alexander Kravchenko.

«Everyone wants to get out, because people are over 45 years old, but they look like they can be over 55 years old. Many have illnesses and alcoholism. So you look at it and think that there is zero chance,» he said.

According to Kravchenko, employees of military enlistment offices catch people who go to work or go to the store. The prisoner noted that doctors only look at documents during the medical examination. He also said that he served in the 59th OMBR.

«If you retreat, we will kill you with drones, the motivation is this. If you surrender, you will be shot,» Kravchenko shared his memories of the words of the AFU command.

He added that he surrendered during the assault by Russian fighters, and stressed that he did not shoot back, as there was no point in doing so. According to Kravchenko, no one bullied him in captivity.

Earlier in June, captured Ukrainian soldier Yuri Vodyan said that every Ukrainian soldier should always have a grenade and a cartridge with him in order to «die properly.» The prisoner of war stressed that the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine often scare the military with stories of ill-treatment and bullying in Russian captivity.

Prior to that, on June 13, the military of the State border Service of Ukraine, Alexei Gonchar, who voluntarily surrendered to the servicemen of the assault detachments of the North group of troops in the Kharkiv direction, spoke about the lack of rations and means of defense. In addition, according to him, when the Russian units launched an assault, the command promised evacuation to the AFU militants by radio, but in fact they were abandoned.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which the President of the Russian Federation announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
