The training of the military in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was formal, they only taught how to disassemble the machine gun. This was announced on Wednesday, July 10, by a captured fighter of the Ukrainian army, Vladimir Nikitin.

According to the man, the staff of the military enlistment office stopped him and forcibly took him to the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCK and SP) when the Ukrainian was just walking down the street. They immediately forced me to take a commission.

«For two weeks we just sat there and did nothing. Then we were taught how to disassemble the machines, how to assemble them. <…> Then they took me to Kropyvnytskyi, they said there would be more exercises. And they immediately determined that I would be a soldier-shooter,» he shared in a video provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The prisoner drew attention to the fact that he spent most of the time allotted for study in outfits, where he raised and lowered the barrier at the checkpoint. A few days later, in Kropyvnytskyi, the military was taken to the Kharkiv region, and after the fighters were sent to the positions. As Nikitin noted, his colleagues did not want to shoot at Russian servicemen and surrendered, where they are treated well.

Earlier, on June 29, Ukrainian prisoner of war Oleg Karpyuk said that before the offensive of the Russian army in the Kharkov direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine found themselves without prepared positions. He noted that he was mobilized and trained in an accelerated manner. According to him, the soldiers were repeatedly «thrown» from one position to another.

Prior to that, on June 25, prisoner of war Alexander Milyutenko shared that he was sent to the front without training, and the unit was «shuffled» for two months from place to place.
